    The Library Campaign

I love that my book is being released in hardcover.  There's something permanent about hardcover.  Substantial.  But let's be honest here.  There's also something expensive about hardcover.  Some of you have pre-ordered a copy (for which I am, and always will be grateful).  But some of you may not be in a position to afford the  book.  And that's okay.  Because your library can.

With the book release less than six weeks away, it's time to bring back the library campaign.  I have begun to track library book orders.  In places like East Baton Rouge, LA.  Keene, NH.  Brookline, MA.  Pasadena, CA.  Saratoga Springs, NY.  Carver County, MN.  Somerset County, NJ.

Libraries are a big part of my publisher's business plan.  When my last book was released, copies turned up on the shelf in public libraries in 36 states (and 1 copy in Ipswich, Australia).  Quite a few of those libraries were responding to book requests from xangans.  My goal for It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Murder is to get the book into libraries in all 50 states.

So I am asking you all a big favor.  I am asking that you contact your public library (or your school library) and request that they purchase a copy of It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Murder (ISBN 978-1-59414-729-6).  Libraries want to spend their money buying books that their patrons want to read.  Especially when budgets are tight.  So libraries love to get book requests from their patrons.

As George M. Cohan once famously said, "My mother thanks you, my father thanks you, my sister thanks you and I thank you."
